KLAAS VOGET – WORK HARD, PLAY HARD

TIME MANAGEMENT
I’m doing a full time marketing job for Fanatic, working on the development side of wave boards and sails for Fanatic and North and then competing at all the PWA Wave events as a professional windsurfer and I also sit on the PWA Management board. There is a lot of travelling involved with all of these duties. This year I started the season with some testing in Chile. I was with my girlfriend and our baby in Matanzas for two months, which was nice and relaxed. After that trip I flew to Munich for the first kick off meeting for Fanatic and North’s next season products with all the importers and flew back again a few weeks later to meet with the graphics agency to discuss the brochure style. Then it was off to Maui at the helm of the 2016 photo shoot and organizing each day for both windsurf and SUP shooting. After Maui I had some German events and more photo shoots in Munich. In June there was the ‘Chiemsee’ clothing shoot, followed by the distributor meeting at the end of June and then it’s the PWA events through the summer. So my itinerary is pretty much non-stop. My girlfriend is not working right now; she is just taking care of our boy so they can join me on some of the trips. But also I’m working a lot from Hamburg, so at the end of the day it is not too bad juggling work, play and family.

TEAMWORK
Normally with Fanatic and North they don’t go and buy the biggest names or world champions. They work with team riders from a young age, build them up and make them world champions. That is what happened with Victor and Gollito. That is also what will happen hopefully with Pierre Mortefon!
