BRAWZINHO – ON TOP OF THE WORLD

Over the years Brawzinho has been clocking up the hours, training on both port and starboard tack – and finally all that hard work has paid off. Right now we can safely say that Brawzinho is the best all-round wave sailor in the world! (Not to mention his 2007 Freestyle World Title too. Ed.)

With that in mind, John Carter was despatched to Marcilio’s home in Maui to help the new World Champ shake off his World Title hangover with a sobering list of interview questions, the morning after his celebration party!

JC: It’s a hot sunny morning in Hawaii, exactly the sort of day you would not want to wake up with a rotten hangover. Probably the least likely person I’d expect to be suffering on pretty much any day of the year would be Marcilio Browne but there always has to be an exception to a rule and becoming the 2013 PWA World Champion is as good an excuse as any. As I pull into the drive, Marcilio is in the garage sorting through an array of fins and footstraps. “How are you feeling Marcilio?” I ask as I stroll up the garden path.

MB: Hung-over! (Laughs) Its not really my style, but we had a little bit of a party, which was really fun, I didn’t have time to invite everybody, but a lot of people just showed up, I guess the word just spread. I literally went from the beach to Costco to buy food and beer and then straight to the party. It was a nice crew and a few drinks were had by all.
