JC: So are you going to throw a big party for your 50th?

RN: Everyone keeps trying to tell me to do a big party but I don’t want to have anything at all. I am trying to let it slide quietly under the radar. Katie had a big surprise party for my 30th but you don’t need to do that more than once. I Don’t think there is any cause for celebration…it is what it is. Fifty is a big number, I am getting older but I don’t feel any different than I have for a long time. I have not changed my perspective on life or what I do but I keep picturing what a sixteen year old or twenty year old must see when he sees me and that is scary. Because I remember how old fifty was when I was twenty.

So from my perspective in my mind’s eye, I am probably a very different person both externally, from what I perceive to see myself to what most people see when they look at me. Basically I avoid mirrors and everything is good (Laughs)

JC: Me too!

RN: Basically I am still riding and having fun and still as juvenile as ever! I have not changed the way I approach my daily life ever. As long as that has not changed and my body allows me to keep active then 50 is no different. 30 sounded old when I turned that age. When I was twenty one guys where going ‘When are you going to retire!’ Even then I had already been around competing since I was thirteen. Now I am fifty and still doing the same thing…Ride on! I am hoping I will make seventy five still going and looking back on now.
