RED BULL STORM CHASE BACK ON!

The Red Bull Storm Chase Team have just released the following news:

“Red Bull Storm Chase begins epic search for Mother Nature’s most ferocious storm

The wild competition that pushes extreme windsurfing to its limits in impossible weather conditions is set to return in 2025 in Denmark.

The wait is ON for Red Bull Storm Chase, the extreme windsurfing competition that only takes place in vicious gale-force winds.

Eight of the best storm sailors in the world will travel to Denmark for the invite-only contest to battle for the crown of extreme windsurfing.

There is no fixed date or location, only when a perfect storm hits the Danish coastline will the specially selected riders be notified exactly when and where the contest will go down.

Receiving ‘the call’ for Red Bull Storm Chase is considered one of the most prestigious honours in the sport and athletes will come from all corners of the globe to take part.

The contest promises wild rides in over 100km/h winds, massive jumps, and huge impacts as the windsurfers push their skills and equipment to the absolute limits.

No storm? No contest. The spectacle will strictly only take place in the most powerful storm that Mother Nature can provide.

Here is all you need to know:

– The chase has begun and the waiting period is now open all year around. There is no set month or season when the perfect storm needs to be found.

– Athletes could include the likes of Red Bull Storm chase veterans Philip Köster (GER), Marcilio Browne (BRA) and Ricardo Campello (VEN). Spain’s Marc Pare could also potentially feature.

– Riders will predominantly be scored on their jumps and wave riding ability. Technology will be available to capture the 3D data of the jumps (height, width, G-Force & Airtime).

– Red Bull Storm Chase last happened in 2019 in Magheraroarty, Ireland with Australia’s Jaeger Stone winning ahead of German duo Philip Köster and Leon Jamaer.

– The duration of the contest could be one or two days, depending on the length of the storm.

– An experienced safety crew on land and in the water ensures the safety of the participants.”
